This position is a part-time non-exempt position. 

 About the Role

As a Distribution Specialist, you'll play an essential role in helping retirement plan participants access their retirement benefits accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with IRS and Department of Labor regulations.

You'll serve as the primary point of contact for retirement plan distributions, loans, required minimum distributions (RMDs), hardship withdrawals, and force-out requests while partnering closely with Relationship Managers to deliver exceptional client experiences.

This position offers the opportunity to develop specialized retirement plan knowledge while working with an experienced, supportive team dedicated to providing outstanding service.

 What You'll Do

 Client Support

  • Serve as a primary contact for plan sponsors and participants regarding retirement plan distributions and loan requests.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries by phone and email.
  • Partner with Relationship Managers to provide exceptional client service.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively throughout the distribution process.

Distribution Processing

  • Prepare and process a high volume of retirement plan distributions, loans, hardship withdrawals, required minimum distributions (RMDs), and force-out requests.
  • Review plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) to ensure participant eligibility.
  • Calculate participant vesting accurately.
  • Update participant vesting information.
  • Access multiple recordkeeping platforms to obtain required information and documentation.
  • Manage each request from initiation through completion while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Compliance

  • Ensure all transactions comply with plan provisions and applicable IRS and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
  • Meet established processing deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.

Qualifications

 Required

  • Working knowledge of IRS and Department of Labor regulations governing retirement plan distributions, including loans, hardship withdrawals, required minimum distributions (RMDs), and force-out transactions.
  • A minimum of two to three years of retirement plan distribution processing experience in a TPA environment required
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Excellent keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to receive direction, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through training and continuing education

 Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
