Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to oversee strategic partner relationships for our outsourced
recordkeeping services, with a strong emphasis on non-ERISA 403(b) and IRA business. This role blends strategic relationship management with operational expertise, requiring someone who can both engage with financial institution partners at a high level
and drive process improvements across internal teams. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison for key partners, provide subject matter expertise in retirement operations, and help shape sustainable, scalable processes that ensure long-term
partner satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage and nurture relationships with 3 key financial institution and insurance company partners representing over $5B in assets under management
- Serve as the primary point of
contact for partner inquiries, escalations, and strategic initiatives
- Conduct regular business reviews and maintain a strong communication cadence with partner leadership
- Collaborate (not own) on new product development, service
enhancements, and business growth opportunities
- Ensure partner satisfaction through proactive issue resolution and service delivery excellence
- Own analysis of operational workflows, identifying opportunities for process refinement and
automation
- Partner with operations leaders to influence and implement improvements that drive efficiency
- Monitor key performance indicators and service level agreements with partners
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance service
delivery and operational effectiveness
- Serve as a subject matter expert on non-ERISA 403(b) and IRA recordkeeping operations
- Provide operational guidance and expertise to team members and the broader organization
- Foster a
collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and client success
- Use Relius Recordkeeping System, Schwab Trust, Matrix Trust, and OnBase by Hyland in daily operations
- Identify system enhancement opportunities and collaborate
with IT/technology teams for implementation (not direct ownership)
- Ensure data integrity and compliance across all systems and processes
- Support training of team members on system functionality and best
practices
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in the retirement services industry
- 3+ years in Account Management or Client
Relationship Management, preferably transitioning from operations into relationship management
- Strong knowledge of retirement operations, with highly desired expertise in non-ERISA 403(b) and IRA products and regulations
- Experience with
recordkeeping systems and trust operations
- Proven track record of managing large, complex client or partner relationships
- Strong analytical and process improvement capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation
skills
- Leadership experience with direct team management
- Product Management collaboration experience within financial services
- Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or Qualified 401(k) Specialist (QKS)
certification
- Familiarity with Relius, Schwab Trust, Matrix Trust, or OnBase systems
- Experience working directly with financial institutions or insurance company partners
- Demonstrated success in process optimization and operational
efficiency projects
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Compensation: $80-110K
3% Bonus
