In this role the Junior Retirement Plan Administrator will assist a Sr. Consultant in preparing the full annual Valuation Reports for 401(k) Plans for a case load of high net-worth clients. Valuation report includes preparation of financial statements, IRS and DOL reporting and non-discrimination testing by the required annual deadlines. Position also includes assistance with distributions and administration duties including filing, answering phones, etc.

This position requires a strong understanding of responsibilities and requirements to carry out the principles and standards that assist in meeting and exceeding the Company’s legal and regulatory responsibilities. Junior Plan Administrator’s primary duty is to assist in the development and execution of Carpenter Morse’s strategies to support business goals and objectives while supporting the Company’s mission, vision, and values.

Major Responsibilities:

  • To work under the direct oversight of a Senior Plan Consultant
  • To work in partnership with the Sr. Consultant on an assigned client list 
  • To have learned the entire valuation process as a Junior Plan Administrator
  • The ability to work autonomously in the creation and production of work product with final oversight by a Senior Plan Administrator
  • Have responsibility for all items related to completing an annual valuation including trust accounting, eligibility determination, contribution calculation and non-discrimination testing, vesting calculation, preparation of participant disclosures and IRS/DOL filings
  • Client communication on specified topics when requested.
  • Processing of Distributions and participant communication via email and phone conversations
  • Preparing 1099Rs for participants that take money out of a pooled plan
