Senior Compliance Analyst 401(k) Plan Administration

MVP Plan Administrators, Inc. is looking for an experienced 401(k) Compliance professional to join our team as a Senior Compliance Analyst.
This is a fully remote position for someone who understands the complexities of qualified retirement plans,
enjoys solving problems, and can confidently work with clients, plan data, compliance testing, and plan design strategies.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities, meet regulatory deadlines, and serve as

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for performing and analyzing
retirement plan compliance testing and calculations while working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, Management, clients, and the Compliance Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Review census data and determine employee
eligibility, vesting, HCE and Key Employee status, and other applicable plan requirements.
- Calculate and analyze employer contribution scenarios to help maximize employer funding dollars and meet plan objectives. This may include safe harbor
contributions, matching contributions, profit sharing, QNECs, and other contribution strategies.
- Perform required plan compliance testing, including ADP/ACP, 410(b), 414(s), 401(a)(4) nondiscrimination, 415, and top-heavy testing.
- Review
and interpret testing and calculation results and provide clear consultation and recommendations to clients and internal team members.
- Manage workflow and competing priorities to ensure regulatory testing and funding deadlines are met while
providing timely service to clients.
- Prepare annual compliance packages for assigned retirement plans.
- Perform projected testing and calculations for upcoming plan years to assist with plan design discussions and provide recommendations and
analysis for client consideration.
- Stay current on changes to ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Department of Labor regulations, and other federal regulations affecting the administration of retirement plans.
- Identify opportunities to
improve processes, procedures, and efficiencies within the Compliance Team.
- Lead and oversee projects of varying complexity, using sound judgment to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and adjust timelines as needed.
- Handle sensitive and
confidential client and employee information with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
- Participate in strategic planning by analyzing data, identifying trends, forecasting outcomes, and making informed recommendations that support the
company’s long-term goals.
- Regularly participate in Compliance Team meetings and contribute ideas and expertise.
- Train and mentor new members of the Compliance Team.
- Complete additional projects and responsibilities as
requested by Management.
- Consistently uphold MVP’s service standards and commitment to our clients.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings both technical knowledge and a strong client-service
mindset.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A positive attitude and a genuine commitment to providing excellent client service.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including
Outlook and Word.
- Experience with applications such as Adobe and QuickBooks, with the ability to quickly learn TPA-specific and retirement plan custodian platforms.
- SRT and/or ASC experience is a plus.
- A comprehensive understanding
of the rules and regulations governing qualified retirement plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex
compliance issues and solutions in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- The ability to take initiative, work independently, and stay motivated in a remote work
environment.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of 401(k) plan administration experience, with a strong focus on
compliance.
- Industry designation demonstrating retirement plan expertise preferred, such as QKA, APA, QKC, QPA, CPC, or equivalent.
Work Environment
- This is a remote position with general working hours of Monday
through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- The position is primarily computer-based and requires the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment. There may be occasional responsibilities outside of normal business hours
based on firm needs.
Physical Requirements
- This is a sedentary to light-duty position involving extended periods of sitting and computer-based work using multiple monitors, a keyboard, and mouse.
- The position may
occasionally require standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Close vision is required.
- The position involves frequent use of multiple communication methods, including
softphone, email, instant messaging, and screen sharing, as well as repetitive computer-based tasks.
