By partnering with plan sponsors, TPAs, financial advisors, payroll providers, and recordkeeping platforms, Anchor 3(16) can provide seamless fiduciary plan administration. Our mission is to reduce the administrative and fiduciary burden on employers so they can focus on running their business, while ensuring retirement plan participants receive knowledgeable, compliant service.

The Fiduciary Analyst is a core member of the Anchor 3(16) service team, responsible for performing day-to-day administrative fiduciary functions across an assigned book of business. Caseloads are comprised of plans of varying size and complexity, assigned commensurate with experience. This position works collaboratively within a team structure under the direction of a dedicated Fiduciary Manager and Senior Partner but interfaces regularly with plan sponsors, TPA counterparts, financial advisors, and plan participants

Anchor 3(16) continues to experience rapid growth year over year, and we’re looking to add industry-experienced individuals to join our 3(16) fiduciary team!

Key Responsibilities:

Participant Eligibility & Enrollment

  • Review census data to determine eligibility for participation in the company-sponsored retirement plan
  • Provide enrollment materials to newly eligible participants in a timely fashion in advance of Entry Date

Payroll & Contribution Oversight

  • Review payroll data to ensure 401(k) salary deferral modifications are updated and loan repayments commence timely
  • Assist with the monitoring and tracking of automatic enrollment and escalation
  • Ensure timely remittance of payroll contributions; submit payroll contribution files to vendor (as applicable)
  • Calculate or confirm employer matching contributions on a pay period basis in accordance with plan document provisions

Loan & Distribution Review

  • Review distribution and loan requests to determine if in good order or if additional information is needed
  • Communicate directly with plan participants regarding loan and distribution options, requests for additional information, and approval/denial of distribution requests
  • Evaluate participant’s eligibility for financial hardship distribution
  • Authorize termination/retirement/hardship distributions
  • Monitor terminated participant accounts, provide notification, and ensure forced distributions are processed annually

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure applicable notices are provided to eligible participants timely in accordance with IRS/DOL regulations
  • Research plan-related issues and corrective measures
  • Support auditors for large plan audits by gathering requested reports and transaction detail
  • Work directly with Plan Sponsors, TPAs, financial advisors, and other team members on a daily basis to ensure timely completion of all responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience (current) in the retirement plan industry
  • Background knowledge and understanding of qualified defined contribution plan administration and responsibilities, including ERISA and IRS/DOL rules and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret Plan Documents as it relates to eligibility determination, contribution requirements, distribution options, etc.
  • Familiarity with the recordkeeping platforms for major providers in the industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • Collaborative team player with an eagerness to learn
