Daybright is currently seeking a Loan & Distribution Specialist to join our Private Sector Retirement Segment.  Be part of a team of thought leaders and seasoned benefits and retirement planning professionals.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Loan & Distribution Specialist will work with clients and retirement plan participants to prepare and process loans and distributions that are requested from employer-sponsored retirement plans. Individuals in this position are responsible for compiling and reviewing loan and distribution documents, determining participant eligibility for the requested loan and/or distribution as allowed under the specific retirement plan’s provisions and ensuring accordance with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply loan rules accurately and calculate eligible loan amounts in accordance with IRC 72(p) and plan-specific provisions
  • Prepare and process loan packages, including promissory notes, amortization schedules, consents, and assignments
  • Calculate participant benefit eligibility and distribution amounts based on plan requirements
  • Develop knowledge of vendor-specific processes, requirements, and documentation
  • Communicate with clients and participants regarding loan eligibility, requirements, and next steps
  • Administer benefit distributions, including eligibility determinations for termination, in-service, hardship, death, and required minimum distributions
  • Process distributions through various vendors and prepare distribution packages, including election forms, notices, and consents
  • Calculate participant benefit amounts in accordance with plan-specific requirements
  • Communicate with clients and participants regarding distribution eligibility, requirements, and next steps

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior knowledge/experience working with 401(k) Plan’s is desired
  • Prior knowledge/experience processing 401(k) Plan distributions/loans is desired
  • Two years of prior work experience in a professional environment with direct client facing interaction is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly-skilled in Microsoft Suite, including advanced functions in both Excel and Word
  • Willing and able to follow directions and established procedures
  • Able to read and interpret legal plan documents
  • Able to apply regulations to various fact patterns
  • Able to work efficiently and provide good turnaround times while adhering to multiple deadlines
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Compensation: $41,000 - $55,000

Location: Remote
