AI Retirement Plan Administrator

Well-Funded Retirement-Focused AI Startup

(Remote / Cambridge MA / NY / Hybrid)

Logo for Well-Funded Retirement-Focused AI Startup

About us

We're an early-stage, venture-backed company reimagining how retirement plan administration gets done. One of our Founding Partners led Prudential’s DC and DB recordkeeping business, and we've raised eight figures from some of the world's best venture capital investors. We're small, moving fast, and building something the industry hasn't seen before.

The role

You'll be one of our first in-house plan administrators. You'll own a book of plans end-to-end while working closely with our product and engineering team to shape how we operate. Your expertise will directly influence how we build.

What you'll do

  • Administer DC plans (401(k), profit sharing, safe harbor, etc.) end-to-end: contributions, distributions, compliance testing, 5500 filings
  • Partner closely with our technical team — you'll be the domain expert flagging edge cases, surfacing what "good" looks like, and shaping how we work
  • Own plan year cycles from kickoff through filing
  • Help us hire and train the administrators who come after you

Who you are

  • 2–5 years administering retirement plans at a TPA, recordkeeper, or in-house benefits team
  • Genuinely fluent in DC plan compliance — NDT, top-heavy, 415, 402(g), the whole stack
  • DB or cash balance exposure preferred
  • ASPPA credentials (QKA, QPA, CPC) are a plus, not a requirement
  • You move fast, ask "why are we doing it this way," and don't wait to be told what to do
  • Curious about modern tools and excited to work in an environment that's investing heavily in better ways of doing things
  • Comfortable with the messiness of an early-stage startup

Why us

  • Ground-floor opportunity to shape how an entire function gets built
  • Spend your time on the interesting, complex problems — not the busywork
  • Competitive comp + meaningful equity
  • Direct exposure to the founders and the strategy

How to Apply

To apply, please send your resume and a brief cover letter to ya@cognitory.ai.
