Compliance Analyst
Ubiquity Retirement + Savings

Position Overview
The Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the administration and compliance oversight of qualified retirement plans, primarily 401(k) plans. This role will work closely with the Compliance team
to ensure plans operate in accordance with IRS and DOL regulations, perform annual compliance testing, and assist with plan design and correction guidance.
The ideal candidate has strong retirement plan compliance experience, is comfortable
performing nondiscrimination testing and employer contribution calculations, and can assist in evaluating operational issues and identifying appropriate correction methods.
Key Responsibilities
- 401(k)
Regulatory Knowledge:
Possess a strong working knowledge of qualified retirement plan regulations, including: - Administration of 401(k) plan documents and provisions
- IRS and
ERISA rules surrounding plan qualification
- 401(k) plan design structures including Safe Harbor and New Comparability
- Annual compliance testing requirements and correction methods
- EPCRS correction programs and
procedures
- Government filings including Form 5500 and related schedules
- Task Execution:
- Respond promptly and accurately to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tickets
and internal inquiries, whether written or verbal.
- Collaborate with the team to assist with and take on increasingly complex responsibilities, such as:
- Annual compliance testing (ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b),
and other nondiscrimination testing)
- Employer contribution calculations (Profit Sharing, Safe Harbor, New Comparability)
- Plan document amendments and EPCRS correction guidance
- Preparation of Form 5500 / 5500-SF and annual trust
accounting
- Operational compliance support (loans, distributions, terminations, and plan deconversions)
- Client Support:
- Provide timely and effective support to
internal teams and clients by:
- Responding to compliance-related questions
- Assisting with interpretation of plan provisions and testing results
- Helping identify and resolve operational compliance
issues
- Assist with client reporting and participate in cross-training initiatives as directed by management.
- Policy Adherence and Team Collaboration:
- Maintain a
comprehensive understanding of company policies, procedures, and service standards to consistently meet client expectations.
- Collaborate with Compliance leadership to update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices, ensuring the team
has access to up-to-date tools and resources.
- Always uphold the organization’s security policies and procedures.
- Quality and Performance:
- Maintain high-quality
standards and meet established quality assurance benchmarks.
Key Competencies
401(k) Knowledge: Intermediate to advanced understanding of qualified retirement plan rules and compliance
testing requirements.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines during high-volume compliance cycles.
Critical Thinking: Strong analytical ability to evaluate compliance
results, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
Results-Oriented: Proactive and accountable for delivering accurate work within established timelines.
Attention to Detail: Maintains high accuracy across
compliance calculations, testing, and regulatory filings.
Skills + Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the retirement services industry.
- Minimum 2–3 years performing retirement plan
compliance testing
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience performing employer contribution calculations including Profit Sharing and Safe Harbor contributions
- Strong knowledge of 401(k) compliance
testing including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, and coverage testing
- Experience with New Comparability plan design strongly preferred
- Exposure to 3(16) fiduciary services or operational fiduciary oversight is a plus
- Working knowledge of EPCRS
correction procedures
- Experience working with retirement plan administration systems such as ASC, FT Williams, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce is a plus.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and address issues
effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Excel skills including intermediate functions such as XLOOKUP or similar formulas
- Process-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and organizational
abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Certifications
- ASPPA credentials such as QKA or QKC, or progress toward
certification
