Retirement Plan Consultant

SetAway, LLC is growing — and we are looking for an experienced Retirement Plan Consultant to join our team.
At SetAway, relationships are key. We move quickly, solve problems, and support advisors and plan
sponsors in a way larger firms often cannot. If you enjoy both the technical side of compliance and hands-on client support, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a book of 401(k) and qualified retirement
plan clients as the primary point of contact
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, advisors, and CPAs
- Perform annual compliance testing (coverage, nondiscrimination, top-heavy, etc.)
- Calculate employer contributions
and reconcile trust accounts
- Prepare and file annual government forms, including Form 5500
- Interpret plan document provisions and recommend plan design improvements
- Proactively identify and resolve client issues, escalating when
appropriate to ensure an exceptional client experience
- Collaborate closely with clients, advisors, auditors, recordkeepers, and internal teams
- Work effectively within bundled recordkeeper platforms (Fidelity, Empower, John Hancock,
etc.)
- Stay current on ERISA and retirement plan regulations through continuing education and research
- Participate in internal process improvement initiatives and cross-functional team projects
- Successfully manage multiple priorities
in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of ERISA regulations and retirement plan compliance
- Minimum of three year-end compliance testing seasons
- Experience
managing a book of business preferred
- Experience working with ASC strongly preferred
- Experience with recordkeeper environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex regulations and testing
results to clients
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with a passion for compliance testing and plan design
- Proactive problem solver with strong ownership mindset
- Team-first mentality with a focus on collaboration and client
satisfaction
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with an aptitude for math and accounting
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage
multiple deadlines independently
- Currently pursuing or holding QKA, QPA, AKS, or APA certification highly desirab
