Plan Document Specialist

Your Role:

What You’ll Do

  • Consistently updates system and status report to keep all parties informed during the onboarding process.
  • Ensures internal completion of tasks by the scheduled due date.
  • Document preparation by reviewing or mapping a client's prior plan document to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Plan provision calls may be required as well as other forms of communication to assist customers understanding.
  • Offer suggestions to address non-supported plan provisions or plan design improvements.
  • Prepare and submit approved plan provisions to the recordkeepers and draft the corresponding plan documents using the designated software.
  • Identify procedures, methodologies, and process improvements to support and enhance the growth of the business unit.
  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly understand and interpret legal documents.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication techniques in a professional manner.

What We’re Looking For

  • Preferred minimum of 3-5 years of experience with retirement plan documents
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, for top-notch internal and external customer service.
  • Thorough understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations governing qualified retirement plans.
  • Ability to draft, interpret, and review plan documents, amendments, restatements, SPDs, and related compliance documents.
  • Experience with plan design concepts and the ability to consult on plan provisions with employers and advisors.
  • Familiarity with 401(k) plan administration processes, including compliance testing, plan operations, and document update cycles preferred.
  • Typical work hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Pay Transparency: $50,000-$55,000 a year.
