Retirement Plan Consultant
Job Summary
We are seeking an engaging and qualified individual to join our team as a licensed and salaried Retirement Plan Consultant. You
will maintain advisor and client relationships, facilitate enrollments, provide investment advice, conduct executive reviews, and drive new business through rollovers. You will serve individual and family
clients by facilitating rollovers and building strong, personalized relationships, providing investment management and financial planning solutions tailored to each client's unique goals.
This role requires an understanding
of retirement plans, IRS & SEC regulations, and the ability to build strong service-focused relationships with clients.
This exempt position offers flexibility: work in-office, hybrid (at our Manhattan, KS Wichita, KS, or Overland Park, KS
offices), or remotely. The role reports directly to the TPA Department Manager. The salary for this position is $50,000-80,000.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Retirement and 401(k) Plan Management
and Enrollment: Service existing 401(k) plans and participant retirement accounts by responding to advisor and client inquiries, conducting periodic plan reviews, and ensuring ongoing compliance and client
satisfaction.
- Participant Education. Actively support plan education by organizing and delivering group and one-on-one educational sessions to help participants understand their retirement options, investment choices, and the
benefits of plan participation.
- Enrollment Support. Facilitate the enrollment process for new participants, guiding them through plan features, contribution elections, and investment selections, while providing clear explanations
to encourage informed decision-making and maximize plan engagement.
- Annual Client Financial Reviews: Meet annually with a designated list of clients to review their current financial situation and investment accounts. This
process involves assessing client information and providing tailored recommendations for individuals whose rollovers have been captured from the current 401(k) business.
- Client Guidance: Provide expert advice to plan participants,
helping them optimize their retirement savings strategies.
- Individual Investment Management: Assist individual clients with tailored investment solutions to meet their unique financial goals.
- Client
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with advisors and clients, serving as their go-to resource for retirement planning and investment advice.
- Sales Strategy Development:
Identify and capture rollover opportunities by developing and executing effective sales strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date on retirement plan regulations and ensure all client accounts adhere to industry
standards.
- Financial Software Proficiency: Utilize advanced financial software to analyze data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to clients.
Required qualifications:
- Series
65 is already obtained or ready to sit for licensing exams
- Strong understanding of retirement plans and investment strategies.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial
industry.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Familiarity with 401k sales and plan management.
Qualifications within six months of hire:
- Ability to obtain the Accredited
Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation or Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) within six months
- Relevant certifications such as ASPPA’s Qualified 401(k) Specialist (QKS) credential, or ability to obtain within 6
months
Desired skills include:
- Experience working with CRM
- Proficient in Office 365 apps
- Quickly learn and apply new
technologies
- Reference for essential details, data, and information and apply them appropriately in the plan, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring all information is accurate and free of
errors.
- Ensure all client-facing documents, communications, and deliverables reflect the highest standards and exhibit consistent branding, logos, colors, and style guidelines.
- Excellent communication
skills—written, interpersonal, and virtual.
- Comfortable building rapport with clients and adapting your communication approach to their preferred style.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking,
and resourceful skills.
- Organizational and time management skills
- Brings order and closure to projects in a high-volume environment.
- Able to collaborate within a US-wide company with
virtual communication and multiple time zones.
- Collaborative team player who offers potential ideas and solutions while incorporating others into decision-making.

needs.
