The Pension Source
(Remote / Stuart FL / NY / TX / Hybrid)

Plan Administrator, Defined Benefit & Cash Balance
Stuart, FL or Abilene, TX (or remote for exceptional candidates)
Are you an experienced and “geeky” DB/CB Retirement Plan Administrator? Do
you have a “pension” for numbers? Does digging into new regulations and/or administering complex retirement plans make you giddy? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” or “Hmmm that sounds interesting”,
then you need to explore this opportunity to join our team of retirement geeks at The Pension Source.
We are seeking a DB/CB Plan Administrator to support our office in Stuart, FL. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in
delivering exceptional service to our clients and referral partners, guiding them through the retirement plan process from initial design to 5500 filing. The Pension Source combines the best of a “traditional” approach (humans answer our
phones, not a 1-800 line!) with the latest technology to ensure our employees can excel in their work without being bogged down by mundane processes. Join us and help create the best work environment in the industry, as we believe that's the only way
to deliver the best service to our clients and partners.
What Will You Do?
- Prepare and review annual plan valuation reports for defined benefit, cash balance and “combination” plans, interpreting and
reviewing their plan documents and tracking/reviewing various pieces of data
- Analyze and review compliance and non-discrimination testing (e.g. 401(a)(4), 410(b), 414(s), 402(g), 415, etc.), and prepare and review IRS forms such as 5500s and
more.
- Prepare minimum, recommended, and maximum contribution amounts for plan sponsors and explain the various impacts on the funding status of the respective plan(s)
- Serve as the point of contact for clients and provide them with
high-quality, empathetic service. In addition, communicate with client’s CPAs and financial advisors
- Review plan document amendments and ensure all executed copies have been received
- Handle plan terminations from start to finish
(including PBGC), including keeping clients and referral sources updated throughout the process
- Partner with our Business Development, Onboarding Specialist, and Actuary on DB/CB plan proposals
- Perform high level research on complex plan
issues and technical guidance. Relay responses to clients and their financial team in a professional manner and provide follow-up as needed.

exceptional service. Our clients leave every interaction with a positive feeling

learning.
Background and experience:
- 2+ years of industry experience, with a preferred focus on administration of small (<100 participants) defined benefit and cash balance plans.
- Familiarity with
industry-specific software such as Pension Pro, DATAIR, and ftwilliam preferred.
