DC Plan Consultant - single employer US/PR plans and/or MEPs/PEPs

We are looking for a full-time DC Plan Consultant either fully remote within the US or on-site in our Shrewsbury, New Jersey headquarters.

The DC Plan Consultant role is a position pertinent to the success of NPPG. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations and thrives on ensuring plans are managed in full compliance with federal requirements. This role involves managing compliance testing, annual filings, plan document updates, and client communications related to plan operations and corrections.

Depending on experience, the plan assignments will include single employer US/PR plans and/or MEPs/PEPs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all required compliance testing (including ADP, ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), and top-heavy) and ensure plan administration aligns with ERISA and regulatory standards.
  • Advise clients on plan design and recommend modifications to maintain compliance and optimize plan performance.
  • Collaborate directly with business owners, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to address inquiries and resolve plan-related issues promptly.
  • Prepare and review contribution calculations, nondiscrimination tests, and IRS filings, including Forms 5500, 5558, and 5330.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for large plan audits.
  • Research complex plan administration issues and develop appropriate corrective action strategies.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in 401(k) plan administration with a focus on compliance.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
  • Experience with compliance testing software and recordkeeping platforms, preferably Relius.
  • ASPPA, NIPA, or other industry certifications preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Puerto Rico Plans
  • Experience with MEPs/PEPs
  • ASPPA, NIPA or ERPA credentials
  • Bachelor's degree
