Position Overview

The Combo DB/DC Retirement Plan Administrator is responsible for the administration of an assigned caseload of qualified retirement plans, including Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, and 401(k) plans. This position ensures accurate plan administration and ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, working in coordination with actuarial and consulting professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer an assigned caseload of combination retirement plans and serve as the primary administrator for designated clients
  • Interpret governing plan documents and apply plan provisions consistently throughout the plan year
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and Department of Labor requirements
  • Perform annual compliance testing, including nondiscrimination, contribution limit, and top-heavy testing
  • Prepare and review trust accounting
  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of Form 5500 and related schedules
  • Collaborate with actuarial support for Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plan valuations and administration
  • Provide administrative support related to qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs), as applicable

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retirement plan administration.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
  • Proficiency in retirement plan software, preferably ASC, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience administering Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, and 401(k) combination plans.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance testing and reporting requirements
