The Role

This role is responsible for driving new business growth by building and managing referral relationships with financial advisors, employers, and strategic partners within their assigned territory. This role owns the regional sales strategy from prospecting through close, representing Independent Retirement’s (Inde) value.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strengthen Inde’s brand and sales in the territory by proactively building and managing relationships with financial advisors, employers and strategic partners.
  • Conduct in-person meetings and engagements to deepen relationships and foster trust.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for your region.
  • Communicate with financial advisors, employers, and strategic partners to understand needs and develop solutions.
  • Serve as the plan design, technical, and operational expert in sales conversations.
  • Partner with Internal Sales Specialist for pipeline management, presentations, proposals, and onboarding paperwork
  • Participate in various marketing initiatives, including presentations at local, regional and virtual events
  • Meet or exceed an initial annual sales target of $250,000-$300,000 in new booked revenue (first year sales) and ramp to annual sales of at least $400,000
  • Track and manage sales pipeline and related sales activity

Your Education and Experience

  • At least 3 years in retirement plan sales
  • Serious preference will be given to candidates who have a track record of success.
  • Bachelor’s degree, and QPFC, QKA or equivalent designation (or willingness to attain within 12 months)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary of $80,000 plus commission.
    • Year-1 total on-target earnings (OTE) is $130,000-$170,000.
    • Year-3 total OTE is $220,000-$270,000
  • Generous benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) benefits, PTO, and expense budget.

FLSA Classification

Full-time, exempt.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to travel routinely by car and/or air to meet with clients and attend business events, including sitting and driving for extended periods, walking and standing during presentations or job-site visits, and occasionally lifting, carrying, or transporting sales materials and product samples up to approximately 25–30 pounds; the role also demands manual dexterity sufficient to use a laptop or tablet, set up promotional displays, and communicate effectively with customers, all of which may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.

Work Environment

This role is performed primarily in the field at varied client locations such as professional offices, warehouses, fabrication shops, and active construction sites, involving regular vehicle travel, work schedules that flex around customer availability including occasional early-morning or evening meetings, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and variable noise levels, and extensive daily use of technology for CRM systems, email, and virtual conferencing, while adhering to company safety and driving policies.
