(New York NY)
Friedman & Anspach is a six-attorney firm in New York City with an active labor and employee benefits practice focusing on the representation of unions and the trustees of pension and health and welfare funds. We are looking for applicants for two positions.
For the more senior attorney position, we are looking for an attorney with at least 3-5 years of ERISA experience, especially in the areas of ERISA compliance and litigation. For the junior attorney position, we are looking for an associate with at least one year of ERISA or union-side experience for our employee benefits and labor practice.
Our ERISA practice consists of representation of Taft-Hartley Funds in all matters relating to their operation and administration, including a significant litigation component. Both attorneys would also represent unions in arbitrations, NLRB proceedings, and other matters, and the more senior attorney would be expected to handle litigation, NLRB, and arbitration matters independently. Our firm also represents workers through a union legal services plan (including landlord-tenant, wills, matrimonial, immigration, etc.). Admission to the New York Bar is required.
We provide a competitive salary, fully-paid health insurance including dental coverage, a 401k plan with employer's contribution, and a collegial working environment. Starting salary is $110,000-$120,000 for the more senior attorney, and $100,000-$110,000 for the junior position, based on experience.
