Retirement Plan Consultant

The Retirement Plan Consultant will work with The Converse Team retirement plan clients to provide financial education and advice in addition to participating in enrollment meetings and executive reviews. He or she will serve the business by providing plan benchmarking and building ongoing fiduciary training for HR and company executives. He or she will perform investment due diligence alongside advisors for retirement plans in order to meet industry standards.

This position is exempt and is primarily onsite in the Wichita, KS office. The position is eligible to occasionally work remotely when approved. This position will report to the Director of Advisor Services. The salary is negotiable. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Schedule and conduct enrollment and education meetings with clients, utilizing onsite and virtual methods of delivery. This may require travel and evening hours.
  2. Coordinate with the lead consultant and administrative team to develop one-page overviews for retirement plans and keep contact records up to date.
  3. Prepare and deliver educational videos and webinars on retirement planning topics.
  4. Meet with plan vendor partners to learn about product enhancements and opportunities. Bring information back to the team for consideration in company retirement plans.
  5. Meet with plan participants and family members to provide financial planning advice and answer questions about retirement planning.
  6. Maintain relationships and client service with plan participants who become personal wealth management clients.
  7. Retirement plan benchmarking.
  8. Conduct Executive Reviews with lead advisors providing investment analysis and target date fund benchmarking.
  9. Assist in building of ongoing fiduciary training for HR and company executives.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Desired skills include, and are not limited to:

  • Must have Series 7 and 63 or 7 and 66.
  • AIF® or CPFA® or be able to obtain.
  • CRPS® or be able to obtain.
  • Demonstrated investment management or financial planning education and experience.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities while not losing sight of work in progress.
  • Demonstrates a high capacity, all-hands-on-deck approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with explaining information to clients and presenting to large groups or in front of a camera.
  • Aptitude and desire for learning and communicating industry-specific information.
  • Professional, mature, and approachable attitude.
  • Results-focused and a self-starter with a high degree of accountability to the team.
  • Thrives within a team and company culture of openness, respect, innovation, and excellence.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of company and client information.
  • Proficient in MS 365 Office Suite, video conferencing, and customer database programs.

The salary range for this position starts at $60,000 but truly is Negotiable.
