Gateway Pension Services, Ltd. is a small yet well-established retirement plan administration and consulting firm.  We are looking for an energetic Retirement Plan Assistant Administrator to join our highly trained and experienced team. The Retirement Plan Assistant Administrator will be responsible for elementary aspects of retirement plan administration, is expected to increase their industry knowledge through experience and continuing education, and progress within two to three years toward more advanced duties. These duties may include nondiscrimination testing, plan document preparation, and proactive client consulting.

Income increases are commensurate with American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) designation attainment and developed proficiency of industry skills.  Hybrid remote working environment to become available for this position in the near future.

Your responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of proposals/service agreements
  • Review of data provided by clients for accuracy
  • Asset reconciliation
  • Importing of account balance downloads from various financial institutions into our pension software system
  • Data manipulation in Excel for importing into our pension software system
  • Preparation of distribution and participant loan forms using Excel macros
  • Telephone and email correspondence with clients

Requirements include:

  • One to three years' experience in an office setting, preferably working in the financial industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and other industry professionals on plan issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Completion of the ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RFP) course within three months of employment, if applicable. Gateway will pay for this course.

Preferences include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business or accounting
  • ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation
  • Experience with Datair systems
  • Experience with PensionPro
