Retirement Plan Administrator - PEPs

Who we are: American Pension Services, LLC is an independent third party administration firm founded in 2000 and located in beautiful Clearwater, Florida. We are an affiliate of The Platinum 401k, Inc., the industry leader in pooled employer plans (PEPs) and have retirement plan clients located in over 40 states. We are privately owned and operated. Our dramatic growth over the past three years requires us to add to our plan administration team. 

Who we are looking for: We are seeking a retirement plan administrator with at least 3 years of industry experience who is familiar with all aspects of defined contribution administration. The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate the following:

• Ability to communicate effectively with our clients and recordkeeping partners (several national level firms)
• Knowledge of defined contribution plans (ideally with some exposure to 413(c) Multiple Employer or PEPs)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with F.T. Williams and/or ASC admin systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a great team
• High degree of organization and attention to detail
• ASPPA credentials preferred but not required
• Ability to pass a complete background check
• Ideally located in the Tampa Bay area, but this position could be remote (USA only)

Specific job responsibilities include: 

• Daily communications via phone, email, etc. with Plan Sponsors, Participants, CPA’s and others involved with plans
• Maintaining retirement plans within compliance of all IRS and DOL regulations
• Identifying and implementing plan corrections as needed
• Review participant distribution and loan activity and contribution submissions
• Contribution calculations and allocations
• Annual compliance testing including ADP/ACP Tests, 410(b) Coverage Test and 416 Top Heavy Test
• Preparation and delivery of Forms 5500 and 8955-SSA
• Send out year-end census requests and review information received for completeness 
• Involved with required Plan Amendments, Document Restatements and Discretionary Plan Amendments
• Involved with preparation of required Notices (including QDIA, Safe Harbor and Fee Disclosures)
• Staying informed of new developments, policies, and laws concerning retirement plans 
• Attend seminars and webinars to further education
