in Portland ME / Boston MA / Hybrid
Verrill is seeking an Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation (“EBEC”) Associate to join our dynamic EBEC Practice Group in the firm’s Portland, Maine or Boston, Massachusetts office. As one of New England’s top full-service law firms, we are interested in hiring talented individuals to join our team. Verrill offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as a flexible hybrid work environment (at least two (2) days in-office) in which our employees can grow and prosper both professionally and personally.
Verrill's EBEC Group provides sophisticated legal services oriented toward large and mid-size employers, both for-profit and nonprofit, in a wide range of industries. We are deeply engaged in every client relationship, seeking to understand each client's immediate needs, long-term goals, and risk tolerance so we can deliver practical advice within the framework of legal compliance. The group is known for providing highly responsive services in a collaborative and personalized way.
We counsel employers in all aspects of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and other laws that govern the form and administration of retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, executive compensation arrangements, equity-based compensation programs, and fringe benefit plans. Our institutional client base includes hospitals and health care systems; colleges and universities; employee-owned companies and publicly traded companies; banking and financial organizations; and churches and church-affiliated organizations.
The ideal candidate has meaningful experience in employee benefits and executive compensation. Strong writing, research, and communication skills are essential. Applicants must be exceptionally well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex projects, set priorities and meet competing deadlines.
For more information and to apply, please visit Verrill’s Career Center on our website and search for the position under Current Openings. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received, and the position will remain open until filled. Need help applying? Please contact the Talent Acquisition Team at hiring@verrill-law.com.
