Responsible for complete administration of retirement plans and trust accounts (35-50 plans). This includes annual accounting, statement reconciliation, contribution allocation, self-employment calculations, compliance testing, preparation of 5500s and plan documents. Complete annual, semi-annual and quarterly administration of retirement benefit plans. Continually review and monitor plans to ensure optimum plan design and present suggestions to client. Keeps informed of new developments, policies, and laws concerning retirement benefit plans. Prepares plan document restatements and amendments. Reviews participant distribution and loan activity, and contribution submissions prepared by Retirement Plan Administrators.
Tasks Performed:
- Complete administration of retirement plans and trust accounts. This includes analysis of census data, annual accounting, statement reconciliation, contribution calculations and allocations, self-employment calculations, compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation.
- Correspond with clients, custodians, CPAs, brokers and advisors via email, phone and in person. Responsible for maintaining customer contact for assigned accounts consisting of daily valued retirement plans and balance forward retirement accounts. Meet with clients to discuss annual valuation, testing and plan design.
- Coordination of annual compliance needs to include preparation and review of applicable compliance testing packages, 5500s, and large plan audit requirements.
- Review retirement plans for plan design to ensure optimum plan design. Prepare plan documents, amendments and restatements.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of three years related experience and/or training
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- NIPA or ASPPA designation must be obtained with a 2 year period from date of hire if not already achieved
