Job Summary: 

As a Pension Administrator, you will be responsible for working on assigned client case load, with support from junior administrators and distribution team. The position reports to a client manager.  You will perform annual plan calculations, compliance testing, valuations, and the completion of Form 5500 .  This will require that you work directly with our clients, plan investment advisors and accountants to ensure that information is accurate and all deadlines are met.   

Essential Duties: 

  • Communicate directly with clients to ensure annual census and other required plan information is received. Follow up for missing information.   
  • Calculate employer contributions and true-up contributions accurately and timely.  
  • Perform annual testing (ADP/ACP, 402(g), Top Heavy determination, 410(b), etc.) accurately and timely.   
  • Communicate failed test results to client in a clear and concise manner to ensure client understands results and ensure the corrections are made.   
  • Correct plan errors as needed. 
  • Perform other required tasks, projections, tests, and calculations as needed.    
  • Prepare and complete annual valuations.   
  • Complete required government forms (Form 5500, 8955-SSA, etc.) as needed accurately and timely as required.   
  • Review plan set up for new clients into Datair Pension system software.   
  • Assist in completing plan restatements. Prepare amendments as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field preferred with 4 to 6 years of related TPA experience in retirement plan administration.
  • Working knowledge of the various types of Defined Contribution retirement plans [401(k), profit sharing, 403(b)] and the IRS and DOL regulations pertaining to them. 
  • Proven customer service and relationship management skills.   
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with employees, clients, auditors, advisors, and others.  
  • The ability to problem-solve, be pro-active, and demonstrate initiative.   
  • Robust time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task required. 
  • Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Experience using Datair, Pension Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite.  Preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, results-oriented, team environment.
