Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a North America Total Rewards Manager. This role will ideally be based at our global headquarters in Allentown, PA, but there is flexibility on location and this role could be located remotely.

As part of the Global Total Rewards Community of Expertise (CoE), this position leads the benefits and compensation programs for employees in the North America region. The main responsibility is to lead, analyze, design and implement benefits and compensation programs that support the strategic goals of the businesses in the region. Aligned with the Total Rewards philosophy, framework and global job grading structure, the pay programs need to be both internally equitable and externally competitive. This individual will provide benefits and compensation leadership guidance to local HR partners so that they, in turn effectively implement contemporary rewards in support of their business units and functions. This position works closely with the Rewards CoE, HR Partners and Business/Functional Managers to ensure that all aspects of Total Rewards in North America are aligned to business goals, our global rewards philosophy and drive an inspiring culture.

Principal Accountabilities
This position is accountable for the following:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to local HR Partners in Total Rewards, enabling them to implement their function effectively.
  • Working in accordance with global pay strategies develop, implement, and lead all aspects of incentive and rewards programs that motivate employee behavior and align to business strategy, Air Products' employment value proposition and our higher purpose.
  • Leading the Company’s health and welfare plans, workplace wellbeing program, defined contribution plan, defined benefit plans and deferred compensation plan along with the Company’s leave polices.
  • Partners with the Company’s employee benefits administrator and health and welfare benefits vendors to ensure the seamless delivery of our health and welfare benefits.
  • Partners with the Company’s retirement plan administrator to ensure the proper administration of our defined benefit plans, a defined contribution plan and deferred compensation plans.
  • Providing Total Rewards subject matter expertise and deliverables for merger & acquisition integrations.
  • Performing annual competitive market assessments, benchmark pay and rewards practices and evaluate industry and market trends; share data and analysis to inform pay design/decisions.
  • Developing Total Rewards Communications & Total Rewards Training.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business degree preferred.
  • 10 years' of experience in Total Rewards with a proven background in Benefits.
  • Prior experience working with HRIS platforms for core compensation/advanced compensation (e.g., SAP HR, Workday) required.
  • Must have a strong analytical approach and ability to provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Strategic problem solver with strong consultative mentality is critical for success in this role as well as a hands-on approach.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (e.g, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
