Conversions Analyst

 JOB SUMMARY:   Performs functions to implement assigned qualified plans while ensuring the full provision of deliverables, products and features are met.

  • Reconciles, trades and communicates status of conversion assets and records.
  • Works with trust/trading platform, plan sponsor, plan investment advisor, prior service provider, and internal associates including documents group, plan administration, recordkeeping, sales, and the communications manager, to execute the transfer of plan assets and participant data
  • Performs quality assurance audits, daily cash and unit reconciliation during conversion.
  • Coordinates recordkeeping processes with annual plan administration, compliance, and trust accounting.
  • Ensures the conversion of distribution and check processing from external systems to the recordkeeping system.
  • Ensures successful transition of prior plan assets based on the established conversion strategy for each plan.
  • Reconciles final accounting to ensure that all required data has been received for posting.
  • Executes the necessary asset transfer activity required for plan conversions.
  • Identifies, analyzes and assists in executing improvements for any daily administrative processes and procedures.
  • Ensures final work products are of high quality, provided in a timely fashion and adhere to internal conversion guidelines, plan descriptions and sample calculations.

Supervisory Responsibilities (None)

Required Education, Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or a minimum of 3+ years of experience working in the retirement services sector with knowledge and experience in asset transfers.
  • Must have experience reading, interpreting, and applying plan document provisions and a background in self-directed brokerage accounts.
  • Strong aptitude for analyzing data, reconciling participant records and trust accounts, and the ability to resolve asset and data transfer issues.
  • Possess exceptional organization skills, strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment often under tight deadlines. 
  • Strong MS Office skills to include Excel.

Preferred (but not required) education or skills for this role are

  • ASPPA or CEBS designations are preferred.
