Job Description
Consultants are accomplished employee benefits professionals with a demonstrated track-record of success working with client organizations. Consultants further develop their expertise through continuing professional education and interaction with other industry practitioners. They lead by example and are content experts by clients and colleagues.
Consultants are responsible for the management of a block of clients. They coordinate client work product and deliverables with associate staff members and other colleagues. Consultants routinely meet with clients, both via telephone and in person, to evaluate benefit plan objectives, review critical plan indicators and deliverables, educate employer decision makers on significant legislative or regulatory changes, and educate client employees about benefit plan features.
Consultants have a thorough understanding of relevant technical and compliance requirements, apply technical requirements conceptually to meet client objectives, and effectively communicate advice and recommendations to clients and their professional advisors.
Consultants share their professional expertise with other less experienced staff members through routine training and mentoring. They may
have administrative, business development, and managerial or supervisory responsibilities.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or
higher. 5+ years of experience working with retirement plans. Relevant certifications from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), National Association of Plan Administrators (NIPA), or other professional
organizations.
