Wespath Benefits and Investments, recognized as a 2017-2021 Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® and a 2018-2021 National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®, has an opportunity for a Sr. Benefit Plans Coordinator – Welfare Plans in our Benefit Plans department in Glenview, IL.

As the senior coordinator you’ll support the administration of our disability and life insurance benefits by assisting our plan participants and plan sponsors and working with our external vendors. This position is a customer service role.

More specifically, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Accurately process welfare tasks, including some letter creation, including but not limited to: monthly benefit set up, benefit adjustment, benefit terminations, tax deductions, benefit suspensions, benefit reinstatements, data validations and pay history requests. 
  • Communicate with participants regarding long term disability plan and program activities (including in-take interviews, inquires on claim status, verification letters, plan rules and policies, etc.)
  • Partner with the Customer Service staff and vendor to reconcile and record overpayments and collection.
  • Serve as back up to the Benefit Plans Analyst for day-to-day administration of UMLife Options Plan, UMLife Option issue resolution, and the marketing effort for UMLife Options Plan.

Sr. Benefit Plans Coordinator Compensation and Benefits

  • $31 to $34 an hour depending on experience; based on a 37.5 work week.

  • 17 days of PTO + 11 paid holidays + 2 Floating Holidays in 2022.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience working with employee benefits
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and the ability to navigate between multiple applications
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and understand complex plan designs and administration systems

Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years in benefit administration; specifically, disability benefits
