This position is located in the Office of Field Administration (OFA), a major component of the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA).

Major duties for this position include but are not limited to, the following:
The incumbent serves as a technical expert and program coordinator for pension, health, and other welfare benefit policy and program matters pertaining to the directions, plans, strategies, managements of pension, health, and other welfare benefit compliance and technical assistance programs. Provides recommendations on program priorities and resource requirements based on an in-depth knowledge of statutory requirements, industry trends and problems, and the policies, concerns, and objectives of EBSA, Department of Labor (DOL), Federal, and State agencies with which EBSA must coordinate enforcement activities. Serves as a National Office contact for Regional Offices for enforcement and program issues; closely coordinates the development and implementation of national priorities, strategies and objectives to ensure consistency with Agency and Department-wide policies and priorities; and establishes targeting criteria for investigations based on Agency and Department-wide enforcement policies and priorities, national trends and patterns, information contained in media reports, and other data.
Requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service as defined below:
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. For this position, specialized experience would be defined as (1) expert knowledge of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) laws, rules, and regulations sufficient to allow the applicant to provide technical support and guidance to advance the mission of EBSA and develop short and long range national and regional program goals; and (2) knowledge of the EBSA mission, functions, and programs which impact employee pension and welfare benefit plan activities.
