We are expanding our Plan Document side of the business and are currently seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable person to grow with our group.  You will work from your home office with the support of AimPoint Pension.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Draft plan documents, restatements and amendments for new or existing client plans (401(a), 401(k), 403(b), 457 and cash balance plan documents)
  • Quality Control (peer review) of drafted documents, restatements, and amendments
  • Draft and review SPD’s, SMM’s, Annual Plan Notices, etc. for delivery to plan sponsors and plan participants
  • Ability to evaluate existing plan documents, identify and communicate recommended plan document changes or enhancements to external and internal partners
  • Technical Resource for various team members regarding plan document questions
  • Communicate with various recordkeepers and financial advisors regarding plan design provisions
  • Prepare plan amendments under EPCRS Self-Correction process which may be necessary to satisfy certain plan operational failures
  • Assist with various IRS filings, including but not limited to VCP filing assistance
  • Lead technical research to determine ERISA compliance and best practices for client requests, law changes, provision interpretations, etc.
  • Assist with development of internal processes and training team members to accommodate ERISA law changes and/or IRS/DOL bulletins
  • Assist plan administration team

Additional Information about Position

  • A minimum of 3+ years Plan Document experience
  • Bachelor’s degree suggested
  • Experience drafting plan documents and participant communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex subject matter clearly, confidently and professionally in an approachable way
  • Excellent analytical, and organization skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines without much oversight
  • Commitment to working in a team environment
  • FT William plan document experience is a plus
  • Experience with MEPs a plus
  • Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and Word, are necessary
  • Preferred ASPPA or NIPA industry Credentials
