Job Summary:  Works directly with clients, financial advisors and Conversions Consultants for both start-up and takeover plans on-boarding to the Newport platform through the Conversions Team. Facilitates the plan design call with the client, financial advisor and Conversions Consultant.

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  1. Works directly with our internal Document Specialists to review start-up plan draft documents and the mapping of existing takeover plans, which include 401(k), 401(a), 403(b) and 457(b) (both governmental and tax-exempt)
  2. Works directly with clients and financial advisors on plan design for plans on-boarding through the Newport Conversions Team
  3. Schedules and facilitates plan design calls for plans on-boarding through the Newport Conversions Team
  4. Completes the final review of adoption agreement and other plan documents (notices, Summary Plan Description, loan policy, etc.) before final document package is released
  5. Works with the ERISA Consulting Team on complex issues that arise during the on-boarding process
  6. Answers document related questions from Newport associates
  7. Reviews technical amendments as needed
  8. Manages special projects with little oversight
  9. Interacts with sales team and other associates as needed to complete projects by established  deadline Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, shift priorities, work under pressure with competing deadlines during times of heavy volume, and take direction

Supervisory Responsibilities (none)

Required Education, Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • 4-year college degree required
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with retirement plans or in the retirement sector
  • Effectively utilizes Microsoft Office to include Excel and Word as well as various Documents related databases

 Preferred (but not required) education or skills for this role are

  • Preferred Designations from ASPPA or NIPA
