Purpose of position

The Regional Sales Consultant is responsible for the distribution of retirement services – including traditional DC/DB TPA services, 3(16) services, pension outsourcing, and full-scope retirement consulting – across all plan size markets in partnership with all channels of financial intermediaries including banks, wire house broker-dealers, regional broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, consultants, Certified Public Accountants, law firms, employee benefit firms, etc.  The Regional Sales Consultant works within an assigned territory to meet company objectives as a market leader.  The ideal candidate for this opportunity will be domiciled in the assigned territory.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a relationship network of advisors, consultants, platform wholesalers, DCIO partners, and other retirement service-focused professionals.
  • Foster plan sponsor relationships through direct meetings with key contacts and partners.
  • Manage travel, entertainment, and distribution partnership budgets where necessary.
  • Manage a territory of targeted relationships.
  • Maintain appropriate data to analyze challenges, success, and opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to create and implement strategies for accelerated growth.
  • Align resources across the organization to achieve top-line revenue and profit objectives.
  • Help establish go-to-market strategy and on-going narrative across multiple opportunity fronts in tandem with Marketing colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development and tracking of pipeline opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of key competitors with the ability to highlight Definiti’s unique advantages.
  • Represent Definiti at industry, advisor / consultant, and thought leadership conferences to promote Definiti’s proficiency in all aspects of retirement services.
  • Attend to continuing education and professional development in order retain individual and Definiti’s status as an industry expert and leader.

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Competencies Required

  • 5 years of relevant experience in the retirement plan industry with proven success in the distribution of recordkeeping and administrative services.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including presenting publicly.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of strategic business plans in support of sales growth.
  • Domain expertise in the retirement services market, understanding of platforms/solutions/distribution & service models, key competitors, and centers of influence.
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills; the ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate joint accountability for organizational success with peers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Retirement-specific credentials preferred.
  • Travel required.
