Retirement Plan Specialists, Inc. (RPS) is looking for a plan administrator to assume responsibilities over a block clients comprised of Cash Balance and 401k aggregated small-employer and owner-only plans.  The primary role of this position is to perform annual valuation & compliance services and ensure annual reporting requirements are satisfied.  The position will also be expected to provide support for plan document services, distributions, critical analysis, consultative assistance, or any other assistance as needed to help the client and service team.  Services provided will include:

  • Review and interpret census, payroll & W-2 data
  • Review eligibility, vesting, service, & compensation
  • Trust Accounting
  • Perform applicable compliance testing, and provide recommendations for correction when needed
  • Proactive advice & suggestions to clients and team leadership
  • Assist with generating Plan Documents (& Amendments) for new clients and restatements
  • Review and assist processor with distribution transactions
  • Communicate with clients


QPA (ASPPA) designation or equivalent experience is required.  In the absence of a designation, the level of expertise will need to be assessed.  Candidates will be evaluated based on length and type of experience. Highest consideration and preference will be given to those with 3+ years’ prior experience with CB-DC aggregated plans.  Candidates with DC-only plan expertise may apply but must demonstrate a willingness and desire to learn administration of DB/CB plans and have an existing thorough knowledge of cross-tested/new comparability [401(a)(4)] calculations.

Candidates applying for a remote position must have prior experience in a remote environment and explain/demonstrate their philosophy for maintaining productivity.  The position will require working within a team structure (actuaries, distribution processors, consultants) as well as the ability to work independently to usher the administration projects through to completion.

RPS is a family-owned firm located in the Orlando area.  Our firm administers many types of qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), Profit Sharing, Money Purchase, ESOP, Defined Benefit, and Cash Balance plans for both large and small employers.  We utilize DATAIR PEWin & Pension Reporter systems, ftWilliam for Plan Document maintenance, PensionPro, Office365, Quickbooks, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.  Candidates familiar with these systems will be highly considered.
