Plan Administration Manager, Client Services

Description:

The manager reports directly to the Director of Plan Administration, and is responsible for establishing and executing short, medium and long-term strategies, goals and improvements of the business unit that reduce costs, ensure timely and accurate customer service. In addition, the manager will direct a team of client service professionals responsible for providing proactive and consultative plan administration guidance and support. 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive outstanding client service and performance improvement by managing the change process to achieve intended organizational and cultural outcomes
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement procedure/process improvements to enhance the customer experience and quality of service provided
  • Manage the client services team by coaching and developing staff members through performance management, goal setting, training and effective employee relations
  • Mentor and coach Team Leaders to foster their leadership skill set
  • Oversees the quality and volume of the client service provided through ongoing review and metric development and management to ensure staff members are held accountable and that expectations are met on a consistent basis
  • Coordinates the preparation of monthly performance reports, analyzing the reports and providing summary of findings
  • Prepares and reviews the Plan Administration, Client Services department draft budget and manages the ongoing adherence to the approved budget throughout the calendar year
  • Leading and/or supporting key projects that seek to enhance existing service and operational models within TRA
  • Maintain current, technical knowledge of applicable ERISA and IRS regulations as they relate to plan design and compliance issues with the ability to explain and advise clients based on this technical knowledge
  • Outstanding TRA Corporate Citizen dedicated to maintaining TRAs reputation at all times in the communities we touch
  • Active member of the TRA Leadership Team
  • Perform other job related duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7+ years of defined contribution plan administration experience
  • Supervisory experience in the industry preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory aspects of defined contribution plan administration and other defined contribution regulatory issues involving ERISA and IRS Revenue Rulings
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to track multiple tasks and issues, set goals and prioritize tasks in a high volume and fast paced environment
  • ASPPA QKA designation, or approved equivalent, preferred
