ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to help us service our Health and Welfare book of business. This position will combine client-facing, financial, and administrative responsibilities. Duties of the position include but are not limited to: updating monthly reporting dashboards and underwriting models, preparing and presenting proposals, onboarding new clients, managing day-to-day service and administration of plans, procuring and negotiating renewals, and providing open enrollment support. This position is suited for someone who has served in either a health and welfare consulting analyst or an account management role. We are particularly interested in candidates that have experience in the “under 100” employee market. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and other members of the Employee Benefits Team.

SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical Expertise
    • Strong knowledge of health and welfare plans: medical, dental, vision, life and disability
    • Working knowledge of benefits administration systems
    • Up to date on industry legislative, tax, and market updates
    • Ability to understand client needs and deliver solutions based on technical knowledge
  • Account Management
    • Proactively manage day-to-day service issues and concerns
    • Foresight and knowledge to identify potential issues and provide solutions based on specific client situations
    • Maintain organized electronic client files and system for project management
  • Participate in Client Meetings
    • Responsible for scheduling meetings and assisting with preparation of meeting materials
    • Ability to clearly explain complex strategies, compliance, and policy benefits to individuals, HR staff, C-suite executives, and business owners
  • Manage Client Deliverables
    • Accountable for prioritizing meeting deadlines and following through on all client-related matters:
      • Financial analyses and reporting
      • Benchmark analyses
      • Renewal negotiations
      • Open enrollment meetings
    • Draft, prepare, and present all or portions of client presentations
  • Vendor/Carrier Evaluation and Management
    • Prepare data required for competitive marketing process, draft, collect and analyze vendor responses, conduct basic vendor negotiations, prepare marketing report, present results to the client
    • Maintain relationships with various insurers while staying current on new vendor capabilities and products
  • Assist with >100-employee-clients’ monthly/quarterly reporting and underwriting projection updates
    • Use multiple carrier systems to retrieve data
    • Enter carrier data in prepared models; check results for reasonableness; ensure models’ updates are peer-reviewed
  • Business Development
    • This position does not require you to find new clients, but it does on occasion require you to work with LoVasco’s sales professionals when necessary to assist with bringing in new business
      • Support business development team in meeting sales and profitability goals by attending prospect meetings and onboarding new clients

 PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with group health, life, and disability plans
  • Michigan Life and Health insurance license
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
