Trucker Huss, one of the largest law firms focused exclusively on employee benefits law with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, seeks an attorney with at least three years of experience with health and welfare plans.  

Basic qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have substantive knowledge and understanding of the laws governing health and welfare plans, including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code (including Section 125 cafeteria plans), the Consolidated Appropriations Act, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, and COBRA and their respective implementing regulations and guidance.  The ideal candidate should also have experience with drafting plan documents, summary plan descriptions and other plan communications and with negotiating service provider agreements.  Experience with benefits-related provisions in M&A transactions is not required, but is a plus.  Candidates should have strong drafting and negotiating skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.

Candidate must be a member of the California bar, or willing to become a member of the California bar.
