Qualified Plan Administrators, Inc. is seeking an experienced Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a small book of customer relationships and supervising a team of Administrators. The ideal candidate should have pension/retirement plan administration experience, supervisory experience, strong attention to detail, and superior customer service skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

Job Description:   

  • Manage all aspects of client administration for defined benefit and/or defined contribution plans
  • Manage a small team of plan administrators, including performance discussions
  • Work closely with the management team for reporting, work flow and process improvements
  • Ensure team is meeting all critical deadlines for their respective books of business
  • Answer client, advisor, and accountant calls and correspondence regarding retirement plan administration providing guidance for all compliance related items.
  • Calculate maximum and minimum contribution amounts for plan sponsors to determine the optimal contribution level annually including safe harbor and ADP/ACP non-discrimination testing for non-safe harbor 401k
  • Perform non-discrimination compliance testing ADP, ACP, 402(g), 415(c), Top Heavy and 410(b) Coverage
  • Prepare Annual Administration reports, Form 5500, and related schedules
  • Reconcile fund balances at plan and participant level
  • Interpret and analyze plan documents as well as legal contracts to resolve issues relating to employer sponsored plans.


  • 5+ years of retirement plan administration experience
  • 3+ years of supervising/management experience
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or comparable professional work experience
  • Possess strong financial acumen and the ability to put accounting principles into practice
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus; written and verbal
  • Solve complex problems with limited direct supervision
  • Have strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow up skills
  • Thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player
  • Have technology and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with ASC Administration and/or FIS-Relius Document System a plus
  • Experience with insurance products a plus
