Sales Operations Specialist for Retirement 401k Plans

Location:   This position is not full-time remote and will require to be at a Newport office frequently.  COVID protocols are in place at all Newport office locations.

JOB SUMMARY:  Newport's Inside Sales Representative is the start for 401k Sales.  The Inside Sales Representative will support Newport’s sales team from an internal perspective on selling and installing new business clients by understanding and adhering to Newport’s internal sales process; allowing the sales team to focus on new sales opportunities.

  • Partners with the sales team to provide support for their daily sales efforts.
  • Provides timely updates in customer relationship management system (Microsoft Dynamics CRM).
  • Prepares detailed analysis and proposals for prospective clients.
  • Provides research and market intelligence using tools such as FreeErisa, Judy Diamond, BrightScope, etc.
  • Works with internal operations partners to support the post-sales functions including:
  • Coordinating contracts, conversion process, investment lineup and mapping
  • Communicating directly with other departments (Documents, Conversions, Operations, etc.)
  • Studies and learns industry specific language and rules to include QKA, retirement industry regulations, and DOL updates.
  • Collects market intelligence and shares with sales team and rest of the organization.
  • Responds to inbound web inquiries from Newport’s phone and internet systems.
  • Multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • 2-4 years of experience in the financial services industry, especially as it relates to fund analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 

 Preferred (but not required) education or skills for this role are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • QKA Certification

 TRAVEL: Less than 5%.
