Job Description:

Newport is looking to hire an Investment Analyst who will be an integral part of the Fiduciary Consulting Services Team. The position requires working within a collaborative team environment, providing support and analyses used in the production of various client deliverables. Such deliverables include investment performance reports, retirement plan diagnostics, asset allocation studies, fee analyses and quarterly investment reports.

Salary up to $48,000/year depending upon skills and experience.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting approximately 100 client assignments from an operational standpoint
  • Setting up and maintaining investment lineups
  • Facilitating investment changes
  • Providing investment support to various teams across the broader organization

 Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics
  • Ideal candidates will have great project management experience and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Strong time management, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate will be expected to pursue the appropriate securities licenses (Series 6 or 7, and 66) and ideally, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, with support from the firm but primarily through disciplined self-study.

Preferred (but not required) Education or Skills for this role are:

  • Understanding of financial instruments and products. E.g. Mutual funds, ETFs, and other various life insurance products used within retirement industry.
  • General understanding of financial markets and economics.
  • 2 years of experience in the financial services industry a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of retirement plans is preferred.
