401(k) Administrator

TPS Group

in Telecommute / North Haven CT

TPS Group is seeking an experienced 401(k) Administrator.  Candidates local to North Haven CT are preferred, but experience remote workers who have successfully worked in a TPA environment will be considered.

The position is responsible for overseeing an assigned client list and handling all aspects of record keeping, compliance testing and government reporting requirements for assigned plans.  There is significant contact with clients, brokers, payroll vendors and other parties involved in each plan.

A mininum of 3-5 years experience in some or all aspects of qualified plan administration is required.  The position's primary responsibilities are to:

  • Research and resolve inquiries from company owners, plan trustees, human resource, payroll personnel, brokers and investment advisors.
  • Ensure all plan activity is in compliance with plan documents and applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Verify census data, determine eligibility, dates of participation and vesting.
  • Prepare Coverage, Top Heavy and Anti-Discrimination (ADP and ACP) Test as appropriate, determine corrective measures.
  • Calculate various employer contribution allocations and scenarios.
  • Handle client requests for various participant distributions types including hardship, in-service, termination and loan distributions.
