Trust Administrator

Job Description
- Assist with training of accountant team on different types of retirement plans,
- Manage assigned trust accounting for retirement plans,
- Liaison between Out Sourcing (OS) team and the
client/Broker/CPAs/other representatives of the retirement plan,
- Manage production between company’s compliance consultants and Out Sourcing (OS),
- Provide assistance and guidance to trust accountant team on retirement plan
issues,
- Track monthly production goals,
- Respond to or assign internal and external inquiries to accountant team,
- Respond to client questions in a professional, accurate and timely manner,
- Manage the year end Form
5500’s AAAP (As Accurate As Possible) project,
- Work with Client Relations team and the compliance consultants to ensure completion of retirement plans that are complicated or assist with non-responsive clients,
- Attend virtual client
meetings to help with communications, client satisfaction and overall quality of services,
- Attend management and department meetings,
- Manage year-end accounting for leveraged and non-leveraged Employee Stock Ownership Plans
(ESOP),
- Manage accounting for takeover retirement plans,
- Calculate lost earnings on missed opportunity/payrolls,
- Assist in completing Form 5330’s on Prohibited Transactions and on lost earnings,
- Respond to third party
auditor’s inquiries on large filers,
- Manage various depositories tested on an annual basis for ASC upload ability; in order for retirement plans so that retirement plans can be worked more efficiently,
- Make notification to trust
accountant team and compliance consultants about any procedural changes or updates with depositories,
- Make notification to trust accountant team about any changes to government regulations,
- Provide assistance to compliance consultants with
balancing retirement plans,
- Assist compliance consultants in completing the Form 5500 on large cash basis plans (Schedule H, A, C, D and 4i attachments, etc.),
- Assist the data collections team with acquiring information,
- Help
identify gaps and recommend training within the trust accountant team,
- Communicate retirement plan issue inter-departmentally,
- Act as a back-up for other team members,
- Minimal travel required,
- Additional duties may be
assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience,
- Minimum of 7 years professional, retirement/pension
industry or financial services industry experience,
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office,
- Strong organizational and communication skills,
- Ability to multi-task,
- ASC
Retirement Plan Software experience is preferred,
- Knowledge of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and related regulations,
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet deadlines in
connection with business operations,
- The ability to clearly and concisely articulate retirement terminology to clients,
- Team oriented attitude a willingness to help others achieve,
Working conditions
This
position is remote, meaning that candidate is someone who is employed by the company, but works outside of a traditional office environment. Most candidates work from home. Candidate will work standard office hours, which are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays with a few minor variations due to business needs and projects.
Physical requirements
The physical demands of the job include sitting for long periods of time,
typing, visually reviewing data on a computer screen/monitor.
