Description:

Accurately and timely draft plan documents and amendments for Plan Sponsors.  Partner with TRA’s Installation Department and Plan Administration Department to fulfill the plan document and amendment needs of our Plan Sponsors. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform protected benefit reviews and, under direction, confirm the documents are in full compliance will all current pension legislation
  • Draft plan documents and various other notices and forms associated with the plan setup process for takeover clients’ plans
  • Draft complex plan amendments for existing clients’ plans
  • Draft documents and participation agreement for Multiple Employer and Defined Benefit Plans
  • Serve as Document Department Subject Matter Advisor for 403(b) Plans, Multiple Employer Plans, and/or Defined Benefit Plans, including evaluation of regulatory restatement documents and developing/leading training for staff
  • Support regulatory restatement process by converting existing plan documents, verifying accuracy of converted data and drafting restated plan documents
  • Assist with the quality review process as needed
  • Update and maintain project data and plan specifications in workflow system
  • Assist with developing and updating Document Department policies and procedures
  • Update and maintain project data and plan specifications in workflow system
  • Serve as a Plan Provider Advisor (PPA) for the Document Department
  • Maintain knowledge of Document Specialist I and II responsibilities and function as a back up as necessary
  • Communicate timely, effectively and professionally both internally and externally
  • Outstanding TRA citizen dedicated to maintaining TRA’s reputation at all times in the communities we touch
  • Perform other job-related duties and complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Three years of related work experience or higher education, or any equivalent combination
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents
  • Proficient computer literacy (Excel, Word and Adobe necessary; Relius Documents software and PensionPro software experience a plus)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to track multiple tasks, set goals and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to handle an aggressive workload and meet strict deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality
  • Mature, professional, team-oriented and self-motivated
  • Able to work both independently and with direction
  • Attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Obtain ASPPA’s QKA designation, or approved equivalent, within 18 months of accepting position
