Advanced Plan Designs, LLC is an employee benefits consulting firm in business over 20 years designing retirement plans for companies large and small across the United States. We are focused on delivering custom plan design, 3(16) Fiduciary Services and on-going administration for qualified retirement plans.

We provide consulting and pension administration services for all types of qualified retirement plans including 401(k), Profit Sharing, 403(b), Defined Benefit, and Cash Balance plans.  Our investment partners include John Hancock, American Funds, Principal, Nationwide, Mass Mutual, Lincoln Financial, Empower, Voya, One America and Transamerica.  For some Plan Sponsors we provide participant level recordkeeping services.

Position:  Plan Consultant

Salary:  Dependent on experience

Location:  Telecommute

Hours:  Full time

Start Date:  Immediate

Candidates will be expected to:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of an assigned caseload of client accounts requiring full administration, including but not limited to census analysis, contribution calculations, required testing, account reconciliation and tax form preparation. 
  • Single point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Act as a pier reviewer in some instances.
  • Provide consultation with clients regarding plan design, eligibility, contributions testing and other aspects of plan operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERISA and subsequent Regulations.
  • Experience with cross tested Profit-Sharing calculations.
  • Ability to research advanced technical plan questions and assist clients with understanding the information/options available.
  • Facilitate plan termination and mergers.
  • Ability to work independently but also be part of a great team of plan administrators.
  • Work closely with in-house compliance analyst and distribution/loan associate on questions regarding documents, notices distribution and loan requests.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in full-service plan administration (start to finish).
  • ASPPA and or NIPA credentials or willing to obtain one or more designations.
  • College degree, preferably in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
  • Superb communication skills and a commitment to superior customer service.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, proficient with numbers and basic calculations.
  • Solutions oriented and ability to handle changing and competing responsibilities are necessary skills when working in an emerging business-like Advanced Plan Designs.
  • Strong command of technology and ability to learn new software easily and quickly.
  • Strong MS Office experience, especially in Excel and Word.
  • Prefer someone who is proficient using FT Williams compliance software and documents.
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
