Your growth is our priority. Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Health System (CHKD) is the comprehensive pediatric health system serving the needs of families throughout southeastern Virginia, northeastern North Carolina, and beyond.

More than a hospital. We operate a 206-bed freestanding children’s hospital with the region’s only Level I pediatric trauma center along with 45 locations that provide primary care, specialty care, outpatient surgery, urgent care, and support services. Our pediatric mental health facility opening in 2022, will expand on the critical mental health programs that we currently provide. Our team is made up of more than 3,500 employees who are the best-of-the-best in their fields and fulfill our mission to bring state-of-the-art compassionate care to every family who needs us.

We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and caring Retirement Plan Administration Manager to manage the day to day administration of retirement plan provisions for the Health System. A high level of independence in the performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration is equally essential for successful functioning. This role is in our Finance department in Chesapeake, VA and maintains a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, day shifts.

´╗┐Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages retirement plan administration including, but not limited to; adherence to plan document specifications, plan expense payments, discrimination testing, 5500 reporting, true-up match processing, audit requests, data collection and maintenance. 
  • Ensures accurate calculation of tax withholdings, payments, and returns.
  • Monitors physician contracts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to promote streamlined processes, operational efficiencies, and enhanced internal controls.
  • Solves problems, make decisions, and develops systems and processes for successful integration and implementation, utilizing organizational and analytical skills.
  • Supervises and develops assigned staff.
  • Serves as point of contact and liaison for vendors, auditors, and internal clients.
  • Keeps abreast of DOL regulations and guidelines; ensures all regulatory requirements and standards are met and maintained.
  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding specific skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge, and communications.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field strongly preferred.  
  • Demonstrated experience in retirement plan administration required.
  • Payroll experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work as a multidisciplinary team member.  
  • Ability to function with a high level of independence in the performance of role and manage multiple tasks and assignments. 
  • Excellent communication, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
