Core Purpose of Position

The Implementation Manager serves as the primary contact for new retirement plan sponsors and will be responsible for coordinating the onboarding of new clients. In this role the Implementation Manager will work closely with our sales and service teams and our recordkeeping partners to smoothly and successfully onboard new client relationships. The Implementation Manager will drive the setup and launch of our new clients' 401(k) plans, keeping the implementation process on-track while ensuring that customers are engaged and satisfied.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the point person for all Defined Contribution new business and terminating business
  • Educates Plan Sponsors on the provisions and operation of their retirement plan
  • Proactively find and implement solutions for our clients and collaborate with internal departments as well as recordkeeping providers and financial advisors
  • Manages the termination (de-conversion) process for Defined Contribution plans
  • Performs trust accounting reconciliation for a segment of our Defined Contribution business held in brokerage accounts
  • Resolves client questions and concerns in a professional manner
  • Contributes to overall department and corporate goals and interacts in a cooperative and positive manner

Competencies Required

  • College degree preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in the Defined Contribution retirement industry
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with FT Williams software is preferred
  • Experience with Pension Pro workflow management system a plus
  • Ability to understand plan documents
  • Ability to problem solve both autonomously and across Maxus internal departments as well as with external financial advisors and recordkeeping partners
  • Ability to work across multiple provider platforms and ensure an excellent onboarding experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Solid interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and work with various recordkeeping systems
  • Possess analytical skills and experience in reconciling plans held in a balance forward environment on brokerage platforms
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple schedules and effectively work across different functional teams
  • A strong work ethic, proactively following up with our customers and keeping them on track
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks with varying deadlines and stakeholders.
  • The ability to put in extra time as needed due to fluctuating workloads.
