Retirement Plan Internal Sales Assistant

This position involves sales and administration activities in assisting SPS sales personnel.  Internal Sales Assistants play an integral role in supporting the growth of the business as a member of the sales team. 

The SPS Internal Sales Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining sales contact data bases, sales personnel scheduled meetings, and proactively participates in activities to identify and target prospective new clients.  

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Proposal generation and follow-up, to include requesting and compiling proposal data from investment wholesalers, advisors and sometimes perspective clients
  • Ensure completion of new client SPS installation forms
  • Follow-up actively on signed paperwork, ensuring that new plans are implemented properly, first deposits made, etc.
  • Provide regular proposal and sales reporting for management
  • Manage proposal, marketing, and presentation materials
  • Relationship building in accordance with marketing strategies
  • Schedule regular meetings for sales personnel with referral contacts
  • Maintain calendar of regularly scheduled meetings
  • Maintain and organize lists of
    1. Investment Wholesalers
    2. RIAs
    3. Investment Advisors
    4. Health & Welfare consultants
    5. Payroll Company wholesalers
    6. CPAs, and
    7. Other potential referral sources
  • Provide updated referral contact information to appropriate manager
  • Maintain Web Site updates
  • Manage and draft Constant Contact emails for marketing purposes
  • Understanding of SPS administrative services and industry requirements
  • Miscellaneous assistance to administrators as necessary


  • College Degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products and Social Media
  • Microsoft Excel and data base use a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Professional attitude and demeanor a must
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to achieve results
  • Self-starter with superior follow through capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
