Since 1999, Hunter Benefits Consulting Group, Inc. has built its reputation as a premier retirement plan consulting firm with offices in Illinois, Colorado and Washington State with membership in American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and credentialed members of the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA).  Our clients range from sole proprietorships to companies with many hundreds of employees.

We are currently looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping others and will be a strong contributor to the team.  We are located in Palatine, Illinois, Lakewood, Colorado, Spokane and Tacoma, Washington but would consider a work from home arrangement.  

Defined Contribution Compliance Administrator

Job Summary: Plan Administrator is responsible for maintaining a block of 401(k) and other defined contribution plans. They must ensure all required work is completed timely and accurately.  This position requires excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, attention to detail, accuracy, and problem solving as well as effective management of client relationships.

Essential Functions:

  • Compile and scrub census data
  • Balance trust accounts and reconcile deposits
  • Download annual reporting from secure sites
  • Perform ADP/ACP tests and determine corrective measures
  • Review plan documents and amendments for compliance
  • Perform all compliance testing and reporting
  • Determine and communicate corrections as needed
  • Prepare forms 5500 and related schedules
  • Calculate and oversee RMDs
  • Handle daily communication with plan sponsors (phone calls and emails) and their advisors
  • Oversee distribution and loan transactions
  • Handle forfeiture accumulations timely
  • Maintain an accurate log of work flow and completion of services

  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Effectively manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
  • Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively
  • Self-motivated

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of retirement plan administration requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in retirement plan administration
  • Strong command of Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Excellent math, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to provide a high level of service to clients
  • APA, CPC, QKA, QPA designations are beneficial
  • Knowledge of Ft Williams compliance system is an absolute must
