Actuarial Analyst

Summary / Objective

Performs pension valuations, ASC 715 valuations, and special projects such as plan design, plan termination, multi-year projections, and benefit statements in a timely and accurate manner.


  • Data collection and analysis.
  • Preparation of the following for review:
    • Annual actuarial valuations
    • Form 5500 with all schedules and attachments
    • PBGC comprehensive premium filing
    • Benefit calculations and certifications
    • ASC 715 valuations
    • Required notices
  • Carry out full plan termination.
  • Cost studies and projections.
  • Compliance testing and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Communication of valuation results and consulting topics with clients
  • Continue to pursue the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation by completing the required exams, educational experiences, modules and seminar

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, or other related field
  • Additional courses in computer programming, Excel, finance, and communication
  • Proven ability to pass actuarial exams
  • Demonstrated ability to write understandable and effective reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cooperate and coordinate tasks with coworkers and clients
