Plan Administrators play an integral role in ensuring Plan Sponsors’ retirement plans are administered accurately and professionally each plan year.  Our Plan Administrators are available each day to consult with Plan Sponsors, investment advisors, investment providers and tax professionals. 

Southern Pension Services works with a team effort in mind.  This position is for an entry level college graduate with an interest in benefits administration.  The ideal candidate has an accounting or finance background and work experience in the retirement plan industry.

Plan administration involves detailed retirement plan reporting for our clients.  The trainee will learn retirement plan administration to include plan non-discrimination, coverage and top-heavy testing, employee census eligibility calculations, distribution and loan processing, trust accounting, government form filings, along with keeping up-to-date on regulatory and legislative changes affecting our clients. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and work experience in the retirement plan industry.  Excellent communication and writing skills – Detail oriented – Professional attitude and demeanor a must - Strong organizational skills - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to achieve results - Self-starter with superior follow through capabilities - Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.  Paid overtime required during busy tax reporting periods.  Datair, FIS document and government filings software and excel expertise a plus.
