Retirement Plan Advisor / Relationship Manager

We are currently seeking an advisor for our Retirement Plan Relationship Management team in our Houston office. We manage over 200 corporate retirement plans as a broker of record and registered investment advisor working directly with plan sponsors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for helping organizations support their employees’ retirement goals.

 Candidates will have the skills and experience necessary to: 

  • Service and expand existing accounts by managing relationships with current clients using corporate retirement plans, (i.e.; 401(k) profit sharing, 403(b), defined benefit, and nonqualified plans).
  • Prepare and conduct onsite client investment review meetings for decision makers, client owners, and committees of 2 to 15 people.
  • Provide capital market and economic updates to plan sponsors and participants.
  • Provide ERISA fiduciary training to help educate plan sponsors on fiduciary best practices.
  • Provide plan design consultation to help plan sponsors achieve their goals.
  • Meet with clients to listen, analyze issues, and resolve problems to keep clients satisfied.
  • Meet with clients to negotiate costs and recommend changes if necessary.
  • Coordinate plan conversions to new selected vendors
  • Provide group education meetings to 2-100 people on various retirement plan topics and general investing principles. 
  • Approximately 20% Travel is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related client facing experience.
  • Requires knowledge of basic investment principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of retirement plans, customer service, and excellent communication skills.
  • A Series 7, Series 63, General Lines Insurance Agents, and a Series 65 or 66 license is required.  Licenses may be achieved upon hire.
  • A CFP® designation or willingness to achieve this designation is preferable
