The Regional Director develops and grows productive business relationships by providing retirement consulting expertise to assist intermediaries in selling Newport’s suite of services.  The Regional Director identifies market opportunities to promote the sale of Newport’s retirement plan administration and investment services. The Regional Director is expected to achieve net revenue goals for business profitability within an assigned geographical territory working in conjunction with Newport’s internal and territorial support teams. .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Build relationships and ultimately close business with prospects from various banking, third party administration, accounting, and investment advisory firms and promote the value of Newport’s suite of services.
  2. Strengthen relationships and increase case closings with existing intermediaries, brokers, agents, and representatives and motivate them to promote and sell the organization's services through a consultative sales approach.
  3. Assist intermediaries to develop sales plans, marketing materials, communications, and proposals. Exhibit at educational conferences. Provide sales support, present actual proposals, and host conference calls with prospective decision makers and technical staff to facilitate approvals.
  4. Leverage the Newport team to provide plan design and retirement consulting ideas to advisors and underlying prospects that differentiate Newport and deliver results benefiting the underlying prospect and their participants.
  5. Coordinate with client services to arrange and conduct corporate “walk through visits” for prospective clients. Obtain fee structures from corporate headquarters and create customized proposals and negotiate contracts for particular situations as necessary.
  6. Provide assistance in conversion process for new clients, customize conversion project timelines, conduct enrollment meetings, and work with client services to facilitate and resolve client/advisor service issues when necessary.
  7. Submit status reports to senior management and report any anticipated changes to expectations or deviations from plan and recommend actions to be taken to improve, correct, or take advantage of conditions and improve efficiencies relative to sales and marketing activities.

Required Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in building advisor relationships by providing consultative retirement solutions or related position with specific experience with qualified retirement plans
  • 401k Wholesaler or related position with specific experience with qualified retirement plans
  • Proven ability to adapt to and implement change.
  • Extensive knowledge of retirement plan services.
  • Highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field or combination of education and experience.
