The Role:
The Benefits Consultant has accountability for the delivery of competitive H&W consulting services to multiemployer, corporate and government clients within the West Region. The consultant is broadly knowledgeable of H&W and managed care plan arrangements, and is capable of establishing rapport and building effective working relationships at senior management levels within client organizations. Success in the role depends upon close collaboration with regional market leaders, national practice leader for H&W, consulting staff and colleagues within the H&W practice and in other market and practice units in the office and region by developing strategies to create or expand opportunities for doing business with targeted client and prospect organizations and for implementing high quality, creative and integrated approaches to delivering consulting services; building, maintaining and managing effective relationships at senior levels of management within assigned, existing and prospect client organizations through client-focused service and strategic, business-oriented advice and counsel; contributing to the revenue growth of the practice, region and Company by leading and/or participating in marketing, business development and cross-selling activities; acting as a technical resource to colleagues both inside and outside the practice on H&W plan and managed care issues and inquiries, and contributing intellectual capital supporting the growth and development of H&W practice capabilities.

The Requirements:
The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of health & welfare/managed care experience within a consulting and/or professional service environment. Corporate or insurance company experience may be acceptable provided the individual has prior consulting experience and/or knowledge and skills that are immediately transferable to consulting (i.e., project management, client service focus, strategic/creative problem solving, business advisory orientation to addressing plan design/technical aspects of health & welfare and managed care plans, etc.). Multiemployer market plan experience is preferable. Experience working with health plans in multiple client markets mandatory.
